There are endless possibilities in the art of abstraction. Formal concerns such as structure, color, and paint application are simply the means, not the end for me. I have been searching for specific images that can be created by those means, the images that elicit particular emotions: optimistic feeling, positive attitude, and cheerfulness. With this in mind, I have painted in various styles, small or large, on different ground, or with different media. These different approaches are important to me, for in each work, I need to find a new challenge that inspires me to keep creating. I usually work in a series, in which I try to start painting with the same mindset and attitude, for they tend to affect the outcome greatly. The finished images are mostly abstract, but often they remind me of something in reality, and I give them a title accordingly.
